About Franklin
Franklin, Columbia University (‘09), Fu Foundation School of Engineering & Applied Sciences with a major in Industrial Engineering, founded Future Advice as the leading corporate advisor partner to financial sponsors and trusted advisor to CEO/Founders. Between 2007-2008, during the financial crisis, Franklin created Blackcrown Inc, to facilitate an original subprime whole loan asset swap (fundamentally, a synthetic repo) between FDIC institutions and Freddie/Fannie, thereby restructuring affected banking institutions (with cease and desist) - all from his dorm room and from Butler library. This original asset swap helped affected institutions (during the subprime crisis) with addressing their Tier 1 capital ratios. Between 2008-2011, having worked alongside IndyMac, Countrywide Financial, UBS’s Delta Americas, and Financial Sponsors, Franklin transacted nearly $2.5B worth of subprime mortgages (whole loans).
After 2010, Franklin joined AppCrown, both as a Growth Advisor and COO/EVP Corporate Sales. In this role, Franklin launched AppCrown’s brand equity and services across wealth & asset management (see here). Presently, AppCrown is the only enterprise industry connector of multi-custodian and multi-application data into Salesforce Financial Services Cloud. For nearly 13++ years, Franklin has been a thought leadership and implementation/technology architect for the wealth & asset industry, with notable speaking at industry leading events (Schwab IMPACT).
Simultaneously of scaling AppCrown throughout wealth & asset management, Franklin has grown Blackcrown into an Independent Sponsor vehicle, organizing with established financial sponsors to engage on certain processes across Vitamin/Wellness, Wealth & Asset Management, and Enterprise Software companies. Blackcrown has advised/engaged in a Sponsor capacity, across $8B worth of private equity transactions (since 2010).
Future Advice is the by product of being a trusted advisor for certain CEO’s of notable brands. Franklin realized the foresight that CEOs, Financial Sponsors, and Investment Bankers needed competitive advisory solutions that focused less on defensive plays but original offensive [take-market share] strategies, curated and cultivated specifically for the firm (and their culture, products & services).
